ျမန္မာနိုင္ငံဟာ သာယာလွပတဲ့ သဘာဝေတာေတာင္ ရွု႔ေမၽွာ္ခင္းေတြနဲ႔သာ ဆြဲေဆာင္နိုင္႐ုံသာမကပဲ ျမန္မာျပည္မွာ ေနထိုင္တဲ့ လူမ်ိဳးေတြကိုယ္တိုင္ကလည္း ဆြဲေဆာင္မွုရွိေနတယ္ဆိုတာ တစ္ေခါက္တစ္ခါ အေရာက္လာခဲ့ရင္ သိၾကရမွာျဖစ္ပါတယ္။
ျမန္မာအမ်ိဳးသမီးေလးေတြရဲ့ မ်က္ႏွာေပၚမွာ လိမ္းျခယ္ထားတဲ့ အဝါေရာင္ေဖ်ာ့ေဖ်ာ့ ပါးကြက္ၾကားက နိုင္ငံျခားသားေတြအတြက္ေတာ့ အထူးအဆန္းျဖစ္ေနမွာ ေသခ်ာပါတယ္။ အခ်ိဳ႕က စက္ဝိုင္းပုံသ႑န္ရွိသလို၊ သစ္ရြက္ပုံ၊ ပန္းပုံ စသည္ျဖင့္ ပုံစံအမ်ိဳးမ်ိဳးကိုလည္း ေတြ႕ျမင္ရပါလိမ့္မယ္။

Once visiting Myanmar, you will be attracted not only by its extraordinary sights but its people as well. You’ll see Burmese women wearing a yellow-white paste on their face. Some paint simple circle shapes, other make it more complex shapes like flowers and leaves shapes.

ဒါကေတာ့ ရိုးရာမိတ္ကပ္လို႔ ေျပာလို႔ရတဲ့ “သနပ္ခါး” ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ သနပ္ခါးကို သနပ္ခါးပင္ရဲ့ အေခါက္ကေန ရရွိတာျဖစ္ၿပီး မ်ားေသာအားျဖင့္ အမ်ိဳးသမီးေတြ သုံးစြဲေလ့ရွိၿပီး အမ်ိဳးသားအခ်ိဳ႕လည္း သုံးစြဲတတ္ၾကပါတယ္။

It is called “Thanakha”, a traditional make up obtain by Thanakha tree’s bark . Thanakha is most commonly used by women but also less to see men wearing it as well.

“သနပ္ခါး” ကို ျဖဴစင္သန႔္ရွင္းတဲ့ အလွတရားလို႔ အဓိပၸါယ္ဖြင့္ဆိုရင္လည္း မမွားပါဘူး။ ျမန္မာအမ်ိဳးသမီးေလးမ်ား သနပ္ခါးကို အသုံးျပဳခဲ့ၾကတာ အခုဆိုရင္ ႏွစ္ေပါင္း ၂၀၀၀ ေက်ာ္တိုင္ခဲ့ၿပီျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ သနပ္ခါးကို အလွအပအတြက္ သက္သက္တစ္ခုထဲ မဟုတ္ပဲ အသားအေရကို ေနရာင္ျခည္ဒဏ္ခံနိုင္ေအာင္ အတြက္ပါ လိမ္းၾကတာျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ သနပ္ခါး ပါးကြက္ၾကားေလးနဲ႔ မိန္းကေလးတစ္ေယာက္ကို ျမင္ရတဲ့အခါ ေငးစိုက္ၾကည့္ေနမိၿပီး ႐ုန္းထြက္လို႔ မရေလာက္ေအာင္ ဆြဲေဆာင္မွုလည္း ရွိေနျပန္ပါေသးတယ္။

“Thanakha” means beauty and clean, which has been used for over 2,000 years for the reason to protect skin from sunlight and beauty purpose. Girls with Thanakha on their faces make you feel like you’re lost in mystery places.

သနပ္ခါးပင္ေတြဟာ အပူပိုင္းေဒသျဖစ္တဲ့ ျမန္မာနိုင္ငံ အလယ္ပိုင္းမွာ စိုက္ပ်ိဳးျဖစ္ထြန္းပါတယ္။ အဲဒီေဒသေတြထဲက စစ္ကိုင္းတိုင္း ေရႊဘိုနယ္က ထြက္တဲ့ “ေရႊဘိုသနပ္ခါး” နဲ႔ မေကြးတိုင္းကထြက္တဲ့ “ရွင္မေတာင္သနပ္ခါး” တို႔ကေတာ့ နာမည္အႀကီးဆုံးပါ။ ျမန္မာျပည္မွာေတာ့ သနပ္ခါးကို ဘယ္ေနရာမွာမဆို အလြယ္တစ္ကူပဲ ဝယ္လို႔ရပါတယ္။

Thanakha trees are grow in tropical zone central Myanmar. Shwebo Thanakha and Shinmadaung Thanakha are most popular. Thanakha is readily available from any cosmetic shop in the country.

သနပ္ခါးလိမ္းဖို႔အတြက္ “ေက်ာက္ပ်ဥ္” ေပၚမွာ ေရစက္ေလးေတြခ်ၿပီး သနပ္ခါးတုံးတင္ၿပီး ေသြးလိုက္႐ုံပါပဲ၊ ရလာတဲ့ သနပ္ခါးအႏွစ္ေလးေတြရဲ့ ရနံ႔က သင္းပ်ံ႕ၿပီး ႏူးညံ့ေနပါတယ္။ အေျခခံအားျဖင့္ေတာ့ သနပ္ခါးအႏွစ္ေလးကို ပါးေပၚတင္ ဖြဖြေလးလိမ္း၊ ႏွာတံေလးဆြဲၿပီး ပါးကြက္ကေလးဝိုင္းလိုက္မယ္ဆိုရင္ ၿပီးသြားပါၿပီ။ သနပ္ခါးကို ေန႔၊ ည အခ်ိန္ခါမေရြးလည္း လိမ္းနိုင္ပါတယ္။

In order to prepare it, drop some water on a stone plate named “Kyauk Pyin” and grind the thanakha’s bark in order to produce the cream. It is smooth and smell good. It is used both during the day and night.
The simple way to paint Thanakha on face is stretching a round patches on cheeks, a line on bridge of nose and forehead or chin.
